[Retail Technology]
Beginning as a Digital Marketing & Design Co-op and working up to the role of Head of Marketing during the company's build phase; a year at this start-up company was worth decades of experience. Finding creative solutions to problems I've seen other marketers and designers face or developing innovative techniques for issues yet to be encountered, this role instilled creative flexibility and organizational agility into my soul.
I toned down my creative flair for a sleeker, more commercial design style, favoring corporate design for better legibility, efficacy, and a quicker turnover rate for collateral.
I learned that designing with intention & clarity is as important to corporate design as flair & ambiguity are to artistic expression. This is where I mastered both aspects of creation; the business and the pleasure.
Balancing the two is at the precipice of creating your brand's identity. I sought to build the consistency of our brand's personality, one with which our audience can bond and connect.
E/N: Believe it or not, this video may have been the most favored content that I've produced for the company according to the founders. Early into the company's conception & my work at Lula, I created this video of the CEO and CPO as a pitch-deck-adjacent introduction to an exclusive group. A group whose support would provide new consumers and angel investors alike. They insisted that I "just go crazy with it" & "do whatever will catch their eye". Eyes were caught.
